Ruby Country Camping is in a perfect location for exploring Devon whether you’re cycling, walking or driving. We are in the centre of the coast to coast cycle path, 90 miles if you fancy it. With dozens of signed trails to walk or cycle, including the Tarka trail.
We are 2 miles from Hatherleigh, which is a beautiful Devon market town with 2 pubs, small shops and a supermarket, you can also walk or cycle to Hatherleigh from the site, using the cycle path at the end of our lane. Hatherleigh also has an adventure playground and a skate park for the kids, and is the home to the War Horse Country Park; founded by Michael Morpurgo the author of War Horse.
We are only a 20 min drive from the heart of Dartmoor, and the ridetherubycountry.co.uk website is a fantastic source of what to do in West Devon, and includes maps for walking and cycling. You also have our local knowledge to call on. For example there are some amazing wild swimming spots on Dartmoor. There are also several coarse fishing lakes nearby, as well as an Archery centre.
